How did Edgar Allan Poe change literature: He has started a knew kind of writing that included sapience, military, and horror. His most famous writings included the raven and the tale tell heart which both fell under this category. These are arguable two of his most famous story's and poems. His story's were about torture physically and mentally. For example the poem the Raven is about a man who asks the raven the wrong questions and does not get the answers he wont's. The tale tell hard is about a man who commits a murder and then starts to feel his spirit from the other side.
What has stories were like: His story's were a Gothic style. Death and darkness where his style. He was inspired because of the death of his loved once. He's considered the best horror writer of all time. As a young adult he wrote stories for his loved ones and the loves of his life.
The cause of his writing: He wrote for loved ones and how they abused him. As he got older he started to write sad/dark stories because of his addiction with drugs and alcohol. But the main reason he started to write is because of the death of his loved ones and the tragedies he has experienced.

Why he wrote: Edgar Allan Poe was diagnosed with a manic depression that was later determined to be bipolar disorder. It can be dangerous if untreated. He was also a drug addict, addicted to opiates, heroin, opium and combined with hard liquor and a messed up life became his stories.
